For Covid19

As the world continues to place its full weight and resources behind the response to COVID-19 Families across the country are adapting to the evolving changes in daily life caused by the pandemic. Most schools, worship centres, places of public gathering, and supplementary businesses are closed, as well as markets and stores. Parents and other caregivers are faced with helping their families to enable them adjust to the new norm.

It is very important to remember that children look to adults for guidance on how to react to stressful events. Acknowledging some level of concern, without panicking, is appropriate and can result in taking the necessary actions that reduce the risk of illness. Teaching children and vulnerable women positive preventive measures, talking with them about their fears, and giving them a sense of some control over their risk of infection can help reduce anxiety.

This is also a tremendous opportunity for adults to model for children’s problem-solving, flexibility and compassion as we all work through adjusting our daily schedules.

Over the years, we have continuously played a major role in the transformation of lives of so many families across the state and beyond.

We have our roots in the community and the entire state. One of our key strengths is that we regularly support the right of people to make complains about the issues that trouble them and affect their lives and we provide solution immediately. These claims also can be confirmed on our website and facebook page.

As an organization, we are in a uniquely credible situation and position to deliver grassroots development services more effectively than the government.

For nearly 9 years, A Godsent Foundation has been working to address the root causes of suffering and to provide lifesaving humanitarian assistance to people in need.

Operating in Edo State, our work focuses on women, children and other vulnerable person’s because evidence shows that addressing basic issues is key to effectively responding to disasters and their underlying causes.

For these reasons, A Godsent Foundation is deeply concerned about the implications that the spread of COVID-19 might have on women, children and vulnerable people who on a regular day goes out to source for basic needs and means to survive in a state as Edo, Nigeria.

Conversant by lessons learned from past public health emergencies, our analysis shows that COVID-19 outbreaks in development or humanitarian settings like Edo State could excessively affect women and children in a number of ways, including adverse effects on their means of livelihood, trade, education, food security and nutrition, health, and protection. Even after the outbreak has been contained, women and children may continue to suffer from ill-effects for years to come.

It is pertinent to mention here categorically that, we have received no government funding, grants or support, as we solely depend on donors from kind-hearted individuals to support our humanitarian project.

“We must come together to fight this virus, and as we do so, ensure that lifesaving relief operations around the world continue. It’s a moment for solidarity and global action.”
